CORE is the online search and filing system operated by the Companies Registration Office (CRO) in Ireland.

Whilst many company filing requirements can be carried out entirely online, the B1 annual return requires a hardcopy signature page to be signed and presented to the CRO to finalise the return.

An update to CORE is expected later this year which will allow the full return, including the signature page, to be filed online in its entirety.

This welcome upgrade will reduce the chance of a late filing penalty, which can occur if the signature page is not received by the CRO by the due deadline.
